Warsito said, based on data from the National Waste Management Information System (SISPN) - Ministry of Environment and Forestry as of October 19, 2022, total waste generation in 2021 in 243 districts/cities throughout Indonesia will reach 30.8 million tons. Committee II DPD RI assess the handling and management of waste can be done through cooperation between the central government and local governments as both have an important role in waste management, especially in building public awareness in waste management.

Vice Chairman of Committee II I Kadek Arimbawa argues, private involvement in waste management should be considered by the government. The private sector can contribute to waste management in the regions through CSR funds.
