McKinsey: Indonesia Needs Connectivity Infrastructure: August 2016

Based on studies conducted by McKinsey, Southeast Asia's economic growth is driven by the rise of urban areas. From their records, one third of ASEAN's population live in urban areas and up two-thirds of GDP in the region. Still from the McKinsey report, there will be more than 90 million people are expected to migrate in 2030 and bring the urban share of about 45 percent of the total population, and 76 percent of GDP.

It then makes the ASEAN region's economic growth in 2030 rose by at least 7 percent compared to now and, of course, are going to hoist the growth in the property sector.

Given the growth potential is still very large, Philia Wibowo, President Director of McKinsey Indonesia said that China's decision to increase the value of their investment to Indonesia this year was not without reason. Therefore, Indonesia was in need of a great development.

"For Indonesia, the construction will be more focus on the real sector, transport, housing, flash power, as well as commercial areas. For infrastructure, the good thing is the connectivity between regions with each other, rather than development in one area alone," said Philia.
