The government distributed 15 thousand pearl shell seeds with Pinctada Maxima type. The decline in the number of mother-of-pearls in nature triggered the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (CTF) to take conservation measures.

Director General of Aquaculture KKP Slamet Soebjakto states the stock return of pearl shells in nature is a crucial step.
