Various components of society were moved to restore the function of the protected forest on Mount Pucung, Batu City by planting hundreds of banyan trees (Ficus sp) on Wednesday (12/10/2022) to strengthen the function of the protected forest such as preventing landslides and floods. Especially the trauma of the flash floods that hit Batu City in November 2021.
The reforestation of this protected forest is a joint movement involving Kostrad Division 2 Singosari, Wono Mulyo Social Forestry Group (KPS) in Bulukerto Village, Perhutani KPH Malang, PROFAUNA Indonesia, the National Ficus Center, LMDH Sumbergondo Village, and others. The Ficus sp tree seedlings were donated by the Kediri National Ficus Center and PROFAUNA Indonesia
