Acer Notebook Market Predicted to Grow by 30 Percent

Although notebooks assembled in Indonesia are sold for lower prices, PT Acer Indonesia is optimistic that the sales of its notebooks can grow by 30 percent in 2007. In 2007, Acer aims to develop information technology-based products, especially notebook and PC monitor.

PT Acer Indonesia, the country's second biggest personal computer (PC) manufacturers, plans to increase its sales by 20 percent this year. One of their marketing efforts will be to release onto the local markets some 20,000 desktop computers specially designed for corporate users. To help them achieve the goal, they are working together with PT Berca Cakra Teknologi, an authorized distributor for branded PCs by major manufacturers including Hewlett Packard, Toshiba and Dell, to market the PCs. Acer also plan to increase their market share from 6 percent to 7 percent in 2005.
