Fajar Surya Profit Up 24 Percent in 2005

PT Fajar Surya Wisesa Tbk managed to record a net profit of Rp.5.8 billion in 2005, up 24 percent to the previous year’s Rp.4.7 billion. In 2005, the company’s sales reached Rp.1.5 trillion, up around 6 percent compared to Rp.1.4 trillion in 2004. The increase in sales was caused by the increase in the selling price of paper by 6 percent.

FWS Ready to Produce Cement Sacks

PT Fajar Surya Wisesa (FSW) will start its process of producing cement bags in the third quarter of this year, after the instalment the machine with a capacity of 200,000 tons per year is done. The company has allocated funds amounting to US$ 100 million to invest on additional machines and electrical power source for those machines. At the present, the company has 3 units of machines that have a total set capacity of 500,000 tons per year. FSW has obtained a syndicated loan from UOB Asia Ltd on August 2005 amounting to US$ 72 million. Last year, the company’s production was estimated to reach 477,000 ton, or 95 percent from the set capacity. As much as 30 percent of the production is in the form of duplexboards.
