Since it was established in 1988, PT Mega Andalan Kalasan (MAK) has been providing consumers’ needs for health and hospital equipment. To introduce its company and products, MAK usually sends out brochures and calendars instead of offering it directly to hospitals and doctors. The company prefers that consumers are aware of their company before knowing their products. The system proved to be effective as demands for MAK’s products continue to rise. As demands continue to rise so does its production. In 2001, the company manufactured 10,000 units of beds. The number rose to 14,000 units in 2002 and 20,000 units in 2003. After 15 years, MAK has become one of the largest health and hospital equipment in Indonesia. MAK’s products include castor wheel, weighing scale, plastic ware, machinery and heavy equipment. Although its is located in a small village (Sleman, Yogyakarta), its stainless steel/aluminum products are used in 500 hospitals all over Indonesia. The company currently employs 200 employees.
