ANTV Changes 80 Percent of its Programs

Antv will change 80 percent of its broadcast programs starting April 30 and targets itself to be the fourth largest private television station in Jakarta this year. The change is following Rupert Murdoch’s 20 percent take over of the television station’s shares. The change will be done in order to portray more quality in programming, on-air look, human resources and infrastructure such as transmission and utilities.

PT Cakrawala Andalas Televisi, the owner of ANTV television station, has invested Rp.10 billion to expand its broadcasting area by constructing 7 relay stations. The seven relay stations are put in Garut, Cirebon, Kediri, Madiun, Purwokerto, Pekanbaru and Padang. Previously, ANTV had 11 relay stations that reached 85 million viewers. As ANTV now has 18 relay stations, it will be able to reach 115 million viewers. Increasing viewers may result in 200% advertising income increase.
