Chamber of Commerce & Industry Co-operates with Sampoerna Bisnis Indonesia, page T6, 2007-09-18
PT. HM Sampoerna Tbk. President Director Martin G. King and Managing Director Angky Camaro spoke with Vice President of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce & Industry Chris Canter. Sampoerna submitted Rp.1 billion to the two institutions’ collaborative program to boost the business organization’s capacity.

In 2005, PT Handjaja Mandala Sampoerna Tbk HM Sampoerna Tbk obtained net consolidation profit as much as Rp.2.383 trillion, up 19.59 percent from Rp.1.991 trillion in 2004. This is caused by the net sales that increased all throughout last year by 39.72 percent to Rp.24.660 trillion. The increased net profit has also caused the net profit per share to increase to Rp.544 per share compared to Rp.454 previously.
Although the sales encumbrance rose from Rp.11.839 trillion in 2004 to Rp.17.439 trillion in 2005, the company still recorded an increase in gross profit of 24.27 percent from Rp.5.806 trillion to Rp.7.220 trillion. Operational profit was recorded at Rp.3.939 trillion.
Sampoerna’s debts increased by 9.20 percent to Rp.7.12 trillion. From the short-term debt the amount rose 24.41 percent to Rp.5.116 trillion because it received a new short-term loan facility from Bank Central Asia, Bank Lippo, and Bank ABN Amro worth Rp.600 billion and exchange debt worth Rp.648.11 billion. Meanwhile, its long-term debt was decreased from Rp.2.650 trillion to Rp2 trillion because of its exchange debt payment in 2005 that amounted to Rp.611.89.
Phillip Morris International dominates 97 percent of Sampoerna’s shares after buying the majority of its shares worth US$ 5.2 billion from the Sampoerna family and public last year.
