BASF Increases Investment by US$10 Million

PT BASF Indonesia has increased its factory’s production capacity of dispersed polymer, one of BASF Indonesia’s top product, by 45,000 tons with an investment of US$10 million. The installed production capacity increase was done to fulfil rising demands, both domestical and international, to the product. Currently, BASF has two factories that focus their production on fulfilling the demands of domestic industrial customers, especially for those producing paper, textile and construction materials. The installed capacity of the dispersed polymer factory is approximately 95,000 tons per year. BASF’s factories also has 18,000 tons production capacity for processed chemicals, 1,900 tons for colourings, 1,200 tons for premix vitamin and minerals, and 3,060 tons for liquid pesticides. BASF Indonesia exports 20 percent to 25 percent of its total production, while the rest is marketed domestically. BASF Indonesia’s total investment adds up to US$70 million. In 2003, its total sales reached 146 million euro.
