Bank Sumsel to Increase Capital by Rp.55 Billion Bisnis Indonesia, page B3, 2006-04-11
Bank Sumsel (the Bank of South Sumatra) received a capital financing of Rp.55 billion from the regional government of South Sumatra and Bangka Belitung. The capital supplement was budgeted by each local government (regency, district, county) as shareholders to the bank. The provincial government donated Rp.35 billion, the Regency of Lahat Rp.5 billion, South Bangka Rp.1 billion, West Bangka Rp.1 billion, East Ogan Komering Ulu Rp.2 billion and Ogan Komering Ulu Induk Rp.1.5 billion. The rest of the amount was accumulated from the donations made from numerous regencies and cities. The fund will be used to strengthen the bang’s capital in order to create a more competitive regional bank. Currently, Bank Sumsel has generated Rp.1.667 trillion of credit. Its capital amounted to Rp.188 billion
