Coca Cola Reaches 120-Year Milestone

Coca-Cola celebrated its 120th anniversary yesterday by proclaiming itself the leading player in the carbonated water industry. The company boosts up to 400 brands in 200 countries and says it serves about 1.3 million people per day. Invented in the US, Coca-Cola hit the Indonesian market in 1927 and has been locally produced since 1932. The company has 16 factories here in Indonesia.
Frestea’s Sales Target Climbs 30 percent

PT Coca Cola Indonesia, the manufacturer beverage product Frestea, targets sales growth of 20 percent to 30 percent this year as the demand for tea-based beverages are increasing. Since it was launched in 2002, Frestea has acquired quite a decent market position, which is about 30 percent to 40 percent of the market share. The target market of Frestea for different regions in Indonesia are also various. In largers islands such as Kalimantan, Sumatra and Java, the products dominates 30 percent to 35 percent of the market share. However, in areas with lower product penetration, the product only holds 15 percent of the market share. The management on Coca Cola has a target to dominate the domestic market optimally in 5 years of Frestea’s launch by preparing some marketing strategies. Coca Cola will hold Frestean communication campaign and increase advertisements in all media, especially electronic. The management of Coca Cola will also sustain Frestea’s quality by maintaining its trademark jasmine scented tea.
