TVRI Plans to Collect Fee from Viewers

Televisi Republik Indonesia (TVRI) plans to reinstate fee collection from its viewers despite the fact that it will continue to offer 20 percent space of total airtime for advertisement. TVRI is currently formulating the system for the fee collection. TVRI is considering reinstating viewers’ fee due to the fact that the state television stations’ operational costs continue to rise. In addition, the TV station also has some debts to settle.
