The premium production of PT Asuransi Jasa Tania Tbk rose by 30 percent to Rp.103.49 billion in 2005. Since the company listed its shares in the exchange two years a go, it has shown a positive perfomance. The premium production growth was also followed by a 14 percent premium income growth from Rp.39.32 billion to Rp.44.655 billion. In addition, investments also rose 5 percent from Rp.3.25 billion to Rp.3.43 billion. The insurance company also booked Rp.20.46 billion in business profit, which was 31 percent higher than the amount booked in 2004. By the end of 2005, the company’s risk based capital (RBC) was 146 percent. The public holds 16.67 percent of shares in Jasa Tania, while the rest is held by Dana Pensiun PT Perkebunan Negara (PT Perkebunan Negara Pension Fund).

PT Asuransi Jasa Tania Tbk has succeeded in accumulating Rp.15 billion in the initial public offering (IPO). In the Jakarta Stock Exchange, Jasa Tania has listed 300 million shares for Rp 200 per units. Sixty percent of the IPO fund will be used to increase production capacity, 20 percent for information technology development, while the rest will be used for human resource development. Currently, the company’s shares are held by plantation pension fund (58.3 percent), PT Dapenbun Nusantara (25 percent) and the public (15 percent). By becoming a public company, the company is obliged to become an efficient and transparent company with optimum performance. For 2004, Jasa Tania targets a post tax profit of Rp 21.8 billion; Rp.29.6 billion for 2005 and Rp.33.8 billion for 2006. Until June 2003, the company has obtained Rp.17.1 billion in net profit.
