PT AAL Profit Increases Up To Rp.414 Billion Kompas, page 18, 2006-07-25
In the first semester of this year, the net profit of PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk rose 7.6 percent to Rp.414.7 billion. This was obtained from a net sale of Rp.1.8 trillion, up 17.6 percent compared to the first semester last year. The largest contribution was from crude palm oil (CPO), which added up to 86 percent and the rest were contributions of CPO products such as kernels and rubber. The sales volume of PT Astra Agro Lestari (AAL) throughout the first semester of 2006 rose 22.7 percent to 476,597 tons.
The average price of CPO in the first semester of 2006 was Rp.3,351 per kg, slightly up by 2.3 percent compared to the first semester in 2005. The export of PT AAL also increased 58.2 percent to 166,559 tons. PT AAL also exports its CPO to India, China, Holland, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Germany. In the first semester of this year, CPO production reached 470,718 tons, or up 13.9 percent.
Astra Agro Palm Oil Output Up The Jakarta Post, page 14, 2006-03-15
PT Astra Agro Lestari said production of crude palm oil in the first two months of the year rose 14 percent, helped by higher crop yields. Crude palm oil output rose to 142,338 metric tons, of which half was high-grade oil. Output in Kalimantan rose 31 percent to 182,041 tons in the two-month period from a year ago. The vegetable oil was extracted from 567,975 tons of fresh fruit bunches, 8.7 percent more than a year earlier. Malaysia and Indonesa produce 80 of the world’s palm oil.
