Federal Express (FedEx) opens its gateway centre in Soekarno-Hatta International Airport cargo area on September 15. The gateway centre features custom office with electronic data interface (EDI) offering faster clearance process for both inbound and outbound shipments.
With its new facilities, FedEx offers four-hour faster clearance process. FedEx's Airbus A310 flies to Jakarta five days a week arriving at Soekarno-Hatta in the morning, making it possible for the shipments to be ready for delivery by noon.
As sole licensee of FedEx's Corporation in Indonesia, PT Repex Perdana International is now the first Indonesian company to have full custodial control over its product..
Located in Soekarno-Hatta cargo area, the 2,000 square meter gateway centre has on location custom officers, "COSMOS" on-line computer system, "Express Clear" electronic custom system, "Super Tracker" scanning system and EDI.
FedEx became the first air cargo operator to fly directly to Jakarta since May 1998. Through its general agency PT Repex Perdana, the company employs 360 locals with 27 drop off location in Indonesia.
