Three Petrowidada Technicians Suspected of Arson

Although investigating team has not found any prove that the fire was deliberate, three technicians of PT Petrowidada, a paint raw materials, PVC and fiberglass manufacturing company, were made suspects to the arson and explosion incident that befell the company. Petrowidada is one the the dominant companies in Indonesia. It manufactures Pethalic Andhydride (PA) and Maleic Anhydride (MA), which are the basic material for plastic. The company is the third largest PA and MA manufacturer in the world. In 2003, the company contributed approximately US$85 million to the country’s state income.
