Due to the fact that the beer business has been sluggish for the last few years, beverage company PT Multi Bintang Indonesia (MBI) has decided to diversify its non-alcoholic beverage segment. Having previously launched Green Sands and Fit n’ Fun, PT MBI has recently launched Bintang Zero, a beer-scented non-alcoholic beverage. MBI decided to launch Bintang Zero because beer consumption in Indonesia dropped 20 percent. In addition, beer consumption in Indonesia only 0.6 percent of the country’s income, which means that an average Indonesia consumes 1 beer per year.
