Because the Singapore Airport Terminal Services (SATS) has bought shares in JAS Airport Service, some structural changes were made in JAS' board of commissioners and directors. SATS, the largest airport services provider in Singapore, has been operating in 14 countries in the Asia Pacific region. Airlines that has been using JAS service include Emirates, Singapore Airlines, Cathay Pacific, EVA Air and Qantas.

Until the second trimester of 2003, PT Jasa Angkasa Semesta’s consolidated business income decreased 14.4 percent to Rp 788.216 billion due to declining income from its transportation and logistics line. The company’s consolidated business profit for the second trimester of 2003, which reached Rp 24.935 billion, decreased 13 percent marginally. Declining margin was caused by high operational costs due to restructure process in subsidiary PT Mobile-8 Telecom. The company’s consolidated net profit margin rose 19 percent due to increasing sales investments.
