Merak-Lampung Ferry Trips Reduced Koran Tempo, page A11, 2005-07-29
The Merak-Banten branch of PT Angkutan Sungai Danau dan Penyebrangan (ASDP) Indonesia will reduce the number of ferry trips from Merak to Bakaheuni, Lampung. This policy is implemented to anticipate fuel price increase. The number of trips are reduced from 160 to 120. ASDP will not reduce the number of trips, but also concentrate crossings on a few harbours to keep sailing activities and tariffs stable. Reducing the number of trips is considered to be the easiest solution taken by ASDP to anticipate the effect of fuel increase towards sailing operations.
